Jacob Stockton is a God-fearing, Texas-born filmmaker with a decade of video production experience. He graduated from Houston Christian University with a bachelor’s in Cinematic Arts and a background in improvisational comedy, video broadcasting, and theater.
His greatest strengths are adaptability and creativity. Throughout his career, he has consistently pushed the boundaries of what’s possible with the resources at hand. Even in challenging circumstances, with critically limited budgets and no crew, he has produced engaging, award-winning content. A jack-of-all-trades and a “one-man band” at times, Jacob is no stranger to producing, writing, acting, filming, editing, and publishing.

You Tube Cinematic Comedy (Topographical Gang)
Co-Founder and lead producer of the YouTube sketch comedy channel Topographical Gang. This channel served as a platform for me and an ambitious crew of film students to showcase our industry level skills in writing, film production, editing, comedy and music. Operating on a strict schedule, my crew and I produced and edited over 100 videos, and challenged ourselves to post a new project every week during our years together. My team, and I have received numerous honors and awards in recognition of our accomplishments in video production. These awards include, Best Screenwriting, Best Acting, Best Directing, and Best Cinematography, Awarded by the School of Fine Arts department at Houston Baptist University.
Multi-Streaming and Social Media Experimentation
Organically built a 67K follower TikTok account by creating content and testing video ideas. Though I never set out to become an “influencer,” the audience growth reflects my ability to connect with viewers and generate engagement. Today, I multi-stream across TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram using the platform as a sandbox to experiment with trends and better understand the social media landscape.
Led full-scale productions for Fish Fixe, a Shark Tank featured and funded brand. Managed multi-camera capture with controlled lighting and dedicated audio, filming founder stories and recipe demonstrations before delivering polished, platform-specific edits for YouTube, paid ads, and reels, emphasizing premium, appetizing visuals that showcase the brand’s quality, convenience, and trust.

Production Assistant: Responsible for a wide variety of jobs including, setting lights, formatting cameras, transporting equipment, constructing sets and transferring large data files.
Cinematographer — To Dwell on Dreams (2022)
Planned and executed all cinematography, including shot design, lighting construction, camera operation (Sony FS5, RED Dragon), and data management. Coordinated crew and translated creative direction into technical execution. The film earned 16 nominations and 9 festival awards, including Best Cinematography.
Producer — The Mountain (2022)
Led production of the short film, overseeing locations, scheduling, budgeting, and crew coordination from concept through festival release. Co-wrote early drafts and co-directed a proof-of-concept that helped green-light the final film. The project earned multiple festival selections and won the FYFF 2022 Craft Cinematography Award and Best Romantic Comedy at the Houston Comedy Film Festival.
